Welcome to SEP! We are so excited to be interning for SEP this summer! We will be running the SEP blog this summer to showcase all of the fun and exciting classes going on. We will be observing classes, taking photos of student activities and projects, and accompanying teachers on field trips. Unfortunately, due to privacy restrictions, we cannot show student faces in photos. We will try our best to take photos of students that do not reveal their full face. There are a dozen classes going on at once so we will try to visit as many as possible each day in addition to our other duties as interns.
A little bit about ourselves:

My name is Lauren Meador and I just finished my fourth year at the University of Virginia. I am completing my Bachelor’s of Art in History and my Masters of Teaching in Secondary Social Studies Education this December. This is my first summer with SEP and I have loved getting to learn about all of the different classes and activities at SEP as well as the traditions in the program. I am looking forward to seeing the Camper Talent Shows and listening in on all of the amazing classes we have this year.

My name is Natalie Glees and I am a graduate student at the University of Virginia. I will be receiving my Masters of Teaching in Secondary Social Studies Education in December. Prior to attending UVA, I graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor’s of Art in History. This is also my first summer at SEP. I can’t wait to see all of the fun activities and cool projects that students will be completing throughout the summer!
We are very excited for Session 3 to begin today. We had a great time seeing all of the amazing student work throughout Session 1 and 2 so we can't wait to see what Session 3 brings! Moving forward, we will be posting two separate blog posts for 5-8 and 9-11 detailing the activities students are doing in each age group.
This summer, we decided to decorate the office in a LEGO theme! We created various decorations to brighten up our space!
