Today students in "Through the Physicist's Looking Glass" learned about electricity. Mr. Broderson used a Van De Graff generator to show static electricity. He created three group of string-one with short strands, one with longer strands, and one with more strands than the other two. These groups acted as short hair, long hair, and thick hair. Students wrote down which type of hair they predicted would stand up the most. Then he taped each group to the Van De Graff one at a time to see how they reacted with the electricity. The short hair stood up the most.
Dr. Dietz brought an electric bike for students in "Electric/Automated Vehicles" to look at today. An electric bike has a rechargeable battery that can help the rider peddle up hills or bike faster. A rider can also rely entirely on the battery to ride the bike, instead of using the peddles.

In the afternoon, students in "To Demolish, Or Not to Demolish" read articles about buildings that were demolished including the Astor House, Garrick Theater, Singer Building, Penn Station, and Beacon Towers. The class discussed the significance of these buildings and their reaction to the demolition of each structure.
