On Friday, students in the “To Demolish, or Not to Demolish” class were working to apply Architecture fundamentals by building an internal frame of a design they created. The students had learned about how the facade of a building comes last, after the creation of a frame that the building is shaped around. Using various different roof structure ideas, students drew out a building and then used popsicle sticks, toothpicks, hot glue, tape, paper, and Elmers glue to construct their objects. Some students were finished with their frame and moved on to covering their structure using additional paper. They are doing this project to understand the background of architecture and how architects go about designing and building something in preparation for their final project.
